Who the fuck is We you hubristic prick?  You won’t be doing fuck all but attending the ambassador’s parties and eating ferrero rocher.  All the while good men and women are risking life and limb to carry out your foolish ambitions.

One of the commenter’s aptly compared this Rasmussen to Canute.  However, at least Canute* had the decency to not send his soldiers into the sea to hold it back for him.

Edit – *My wife has kindly pointed out that my refence is a little up my own arse, so I’ll just add that Canute was King of England, Denmark and Norway who, legends tell, became so powerful he thought he could command the sea.  Obviously, he failed in testing this ludicrous megalomania.
